A fundraising drive for establishing a mentorship in the name of John Forrest was started in November 2011. Dr. Forrest's long career at Purdue University is highlighted by numerous research contributions to meat science and a host of students now working in the meat industry.

The funds raised from the mentorship recognition will be used to support AMSA programs.
