Bo Reagan

The AMSA has a long history of recognizing achievements and contributions through our awards program. This is one of the rare, but appropriate times when special recognition is merited.

In conversations over the past several months among the AMSA board, it was determined that two Special Recognition awards would be presented in 2005

AMSA Past President Craig Bacon (Left) presents the 2005 Special Recognition Award to Bo Reagan.

J.O. Bo Reagan has been a long-time member of the American Meat Science Association, first as a professor at the University of Georgia to his current role as vice president of research and knowledge for the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association.

Bo’s support of the American Meat Science Association and its programs has been evident, but especially during this organization’s transitional years, when he brought NCBA on board as a sponsor and eventual sustaining member. NCBA has continued its generous support of AMSA, and we need to thank Bo for leading the charge and shepherding efforts to maintain and enhance this very important partnership between NCBA and the AMSA. His efforts to help AMSA grow not only for today, but for its future members and programs, is to be commended.
