Award Selection Committees
Purpose
To select recipients for the recognition programs of the Association.
Principle Duties
· Evaluate nomination materials and select award recipients based on the criteria established for each award.
· Review the rules, procedures and guidelines for the awards program and make recommendations for improvement
Membership
Achievement Award: 6 Board-appointed members with three-year terms. Chairman appointed by Board (one-year term) from the prior year’s award winners.
Distinguished Extension/Industry Service, Teaching and Research Awards and Meat Processing Awards: 6 Board-appointed members with three-year terms. Chairman (one-year term) is the prior year’s award winner.
Meat Judging Meritorious Service Award: The Intercollegiate Meat Coaches Association executive board serves as the selection committee for this award
Undergraduate Travel Award: 8 Board-appointed members (including chair) with three-year terms. Chairman appointed by the Board.
International Award: 6 Board-appointed members (including chair) with three-year terms. Chairman appointed by the Board.
Signal Service, Special Recognition and RC Pollock Awards: The AMSA Board of Directors serves as the selection committee for these awards.
