New in 2009
We are listening! We received a record number of comments and suggestions following the highly rated 2008 Reciprocal Meat Conference. In direct response to the needs of members, here is some of what is new and improved for RMC 2009 . . .
- Included industry tours in the program to allow attendees the opportunity to see technology in action.
- Including programming on sustainability issues and consumer topics in response to member requests.
- Extended abstract submission window to allow for greater participation by all AMSA members.
- Moved business meeting to Monday lunch time slot to allow more AMSA members to participate.
- Expanded family and spouse tour options, taking advantage of the wealth of opportunities in the Northwest Arkansas region.
- Restructured career fair and moved to Sunday evening to enhance interaction between employers and job seekers.
- Retooled the Quiz Bowl competition to address concerns expressed in 2008.
But it is still the RMC . . .
There are some things you don’t mess with. Here are some of the aspects of RMC that will continue in 2009:
- Compact two and a half day technical program allows for maximum networking and learning with minimal days away from home
- A mix of general, concurrent and reciprocation sessions that provides a blend of learning and networking experiences.
- Traditional networking events like the picnic, softball and golf are still here!
- Student activities like the Taste of RMC, Iron Chef and Quiz Bowl competitions, student breakfast and a really special Monday evening mixer event.
- Proceedings packed with review papers, recorded presentations and more.
