9 AM - 3 PM

The Monday tour takes participants to visit Kanapaha Botanical Gardens, one of North Florida’s premier gardens.  The Gardens include 14 different collections, ranging from herb gardens to bamboo stands, contained within its 62-acre boundary. For more information, see www.kanapaha.org. $25 fee includes transporation, self-guided tour, box lunch and admission fees.

Participants will be able to take advantage of art, history and natural science museums located on the University of Florida campus directly across the street from the Hilton.

The $25 fee includes admission to all of the following sites

Samuel P. Harn Museum of Art (11 AM to 5 PM), The museum is home to a wide range of modern and contemporary art exhibits and a growing photography collection.  A current description of exhibits can be found at www.harn.ufl.edu.

The Florida Museum of Natural History (2 PM)  A docent led tour of the Fossil Collection and Inside Africa exhibit.  The tour lasts approximately 1 hour.  For more information on current events and activities, please visit www.flmnh.ufl.edu. The museum hours are 10 AM to 5 PM.

The Butterfly Rainforest VIP Guided Tour (11 AM)  The tour, led by a Vivarium Specialist, is a behind the scenes look at the butterfly exhibit, habitat and Rearing Laboratory.  The tour lasts approximately 1 hour.

Lunch will be on your own. The Museum of Natural History has a small cafeteria or you can return to the hotel for lunch. There is also a wide variety of restaurants located within a one-mile radius from the Hilton Hotel.
