AMSA Student Leadership Conference ~ Educational Experience For All
Forty-seven students from eleven different universities came together to participate in the AMSA 2012 Student Leadership Conference! The conference “From graduation to the daily grind, everything you need to know" was developed to bring together student and young professional members to discuss the challenges and opportunities individuals are faced with when looking for a career.
Melanie Moore, a participant at this year’s Student Leadership Conference, said "This was a wonderful opportunity to enhance our leadership skills, and better prepare ourselves for when we enter the meat industry."
This year’s speakers included: Donnie Smith, Tyson Foods, Inc.; Deidrea Mabry, AMSA ; Brad Morgan, Pfizer Animal Health; Laura Fenton, Advance Pierre Foods; Kristina Butts, National Cattlemen’s Beef Association; Betsy Booren , American Meat Institute and Chad Anderson, Momentum Three, Inc. In addition to the AMSA Student Leadership Conference, attendees were able to go to the American Meat Institute Exposition following the conference.
A sincere thank you goes out to the AMSA Education Foundation and the American Meat Institute for their support of this program and their dedication towards student leadership development!
