The 2024 National Meat Animal Evaluation Contest is scheduled on April 11-13, 2024 at the University of Wyoming, Laramie WY.

1:00 pm Market Animal Division @ LREC – Hansen Arena

7:00 am Communications Division - first teams report (Location: TBD)

1:00 pm Breeding Animal Division @ LREC – Hansen Arena

11:00 am – (half the contest) Meats Division – pork and lamb @ UW Meat Lab

11:00 am – (half the contest) Meats Division – beef & retail cuts class @ 307 Meat Company

After completing the species rotation, students will be transported to the next facility to complete the second half of the contest. Teams will be transported by coaches in their groups, not with their own teams.

6:30 pm Awards Banquet @ UW Rochelle Gateway Center (222 S. 22nd St., Laramie, WY 82070)

The retail cut class will be beef.

Pork carcasses for the Meats division will be ribbed. We will not cut the loin and ham off the opposite side as outlined in the MAE rules because we are limited on table space where are rails our set up.

307 Meat Co. does harvest a few yaks and longhorns. There is potential for one or two of these to be included in the market cattle division and meats division.
Contest Timing: 15 minutes/class- Market Division; 10 minutes/class- breeding division; 10 minutes/class- meats division
