AMSA Announces Co-Sponsors of PORK 101

PORK 101AMSA is excited to announce that the American Association of Meat Processors, North American Meat Processors Association, National Meat Association and the Southwest Meat Association are co-sponsors of the upcoming PORK 101 short courses. PORK 101 is held in cooperation with the National Pork Board.

PORKCheckoff(1)PORK 101 attendees will learn about the value differences in swine, pork carcasses, pork primals and processed pork products from meat science faculty and AMSA members at each University. As a hands-on course, it’s designed to give people the opportunity to participate in the selection, evaluation and fabrication of pork carcasses. They will also prepare and sample products from pork carcasses including pumped loins, bacon, hams and sausage.

Registration is still available for the upcoming PORK 101 short courses to be held September 20-22, 2011 at Iowa State University and October 18-20, 2011 at Oklahoma State University.

PORK 101 CoSponsorsRegistration for AMSA, AAMP, NMAP, NMA and SMA members is $800 and $950 for non-members. Companies or organizations sending more than one person to a course are eligible for a discount. The second person is 10% off and additional people are 25% off the regular registration rate.
