RMC Sites for 2014 and 2015 Selected

Mark your calendars now for the 2014 Reciprocal Meat Conference in Madison, Wisconsin and the 2015 RMC in Lincoln, Nebraska. Capping off a nine-month selection process, Madison and Lincoln were chosen last week by the AMSA Board to host RMC.

June 15-18, 2014: AMSA members will head for America’s Dairyland where they will be hosted by the University of Wisconsin and Oscar Mayer/Kraft Foods. Jim Claus (U. Wisconsin) and Bill Barron (Oscar Mayer/Kraft) are leading the host committee and the Madison Convention and Visitors Bureau will be rolling out the red carpet. The bulk of the meeting will be held at the beautiful Monona Terrace Conference Center with the University of Wisconsin and Oscar Mayer hosting some of the event. This will be the first time in 48 years that RMC has been held in Madison.

June 14-17, 2015: The Cornhusker State beckons meat scientists to the University of Nebraska where Steve Jones will be leading his team of hosts for the RMC. Lincoln was the site of the 1993 meetings. Meetings will be held at the Animal Science facilities on campus as well as in the Cornhusker Marriott conference center.

These two sites were selected from a crowded field of proposals submitted from across the country. The next opportunity to bid on future RMC meetings will come late in 2012 as we start selection for 2016 and beyond.
