Proposed Amendments to the AMSA Bylaws
We hope you are making your plans for the 2024 77th RMC in OKC to celebrate the 60th anniversary of AMSA with us! The AMSA Board of Directors performed a review of the AMSA current bylaws as part of the process leading to the proposed bylaw amendments to be voted upon at the AMSA business meeting will be held over lunch on June 18, 2024.
There are two primary areas of change:
- Nomination and election committee structure. This is proposed to eliminate overlap between those previous directors who might be running for President -Elect, as well as to add a variety of perspectives with younger members and emeriti.
- Student Board. It is proposed to add another at large director with the intent of reaching a broader geographical area or partnering with other student organizations to get a broad variety of students involved in the board. Term limits for officers were also added.
